Big Girls

Alaina FINALLY has a tooth popping through.

And Audrey came home from church yesterday and we asked her what she learned in Sunday School. She said she learned about Jesus. We said "what did you learn about Jesus?" And she proceeded to tell us all about Jesus healing the man's hand. This is exactly the story our whole church focused on yesterday! Wow. She's listening. We talked more about "healing" and how Jesus heals and read her several stories from her Bible about Jesus healing. (She did kind of mix up the word "heal" with "hit" and said Jesus hit the man. We had to clear all that up, but I think she is learning the word heal now. :)

She also busted out the other day singing "Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice..." We've been listening to hymns for kids and she is learning them! Yea!

I love to see Jesus working in her little heart. How sweet is that!

Good Recipe to try...

Chalupa Roast in the Crock Pot today. Really good. You serve it kind of shredded on tortillas with Guac. and cheese.
1 3-lb. roast
2 cans pinto beans
1-2 cans of rotel depending on amount of heat you want
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 small pkg. taco seasoning
mix all ingredients and pour over roast in crock pot. cook on low for 6-8 hours. You might turn it over half way through cooking. some jalapenos would be good as a garnish as well. this was really good. would be good for a party too.

Miss Personality

This girl is somethin else.
Have I said that before?
I say it daily around here so let's say it again...
She's somethin else!

Water Fun

The Douglas Household

You may be wondering what has been happening in the Douglas household?
Here are a few things, to name a few...
Two Sissys playing in a little "tent"
One Sissy got tied up in a bit of a knot and could not get out...
Daddy came to the rescue
"Whew, get me out of here!"
The other sissy is so busy. busy busy busy.

Little Sissy is taking up Big Sissy's love for books...
And finally, "who's that sleeping on my floor Mommy?!"
"It's Bunny Daddy!"

Moments

It seems like our days are filled with sweet moments. Some small, some large, but all are sweet moments.

There are sweet moments of laughter as Audrey makes faces with daddy at the dinner table or as Daddy throws a laughing Audrey into the air.
There are moments of cuddling with our girls that are priceless.
Moments of Audrey reading her letters and being so proud.
Sweet moments of Audrey being so happy going to church.
Moments of amazing worship next to my husband in the midst of a strong church body.
Moments of soaking up the word as our pastor teaches.
Moments of praise for the church home we have found.
Moments of community
Moments of talking about God with Audrey: "Audrey who made the trees?" "God did." "Who made the flowers?" "God did." "Who made the birds?" "God did." "who made Audrey?"
"Mommy did."

Moments like a laughing baby

Moments of Mommy and Audrey exercising together

( Audrey tells me to put down the camera and exercise.)
Moments between sweet sisters...

Alaina trying new things, liking some, not so much liking others.
Sisters playing together...

Alaina crawling like crazy and pulling up everywhere.
Her personality is coming through so much. She is such a fun, sweet little one.
(Her nursery teachers at church say she is their favorite and tell us to make sure she is back next week.)Moments of play with a big girl...
a big potty trained girl that we are so proud of I must say.

A moment of pride for Daddy and Bapa as Audrey looks at me out of the blue and says...

Longhorns!
(Not sure where she came up with that, but I'm sure her Bapa is loving this.)
There are so many sweet moments we cannot remember them all.
But we are blessed, blessed in each and every sweet moment we are given.

Milestones

Alaina met a new milestone today.
She ate dogfood.
Well, not really "ate," but she got a good mouthful taste.
Audrey wanted to know what happened and when I told her she said,
"oh, that's not good."
