updates

Well, I guess it's time for a little update from the Douglas fam.
(my computer died and I haven't been getting online much.)

Our house is coming together. you'll see pictures soon. We have painted the entire interior of the house, Troy put up an awesome backsplash throughout the kitchen, carpet is laid, curtains are fixed and hung. Pretty much 2/3 of the house is done, our bedrooms and the den/kitchen. Now we just have to put in flooring in the office/spare bed (which Troy is doing this weekend), I have to finish painting the spare bathroom, we have wallpaper ordered for a portion of our dining room, and then we have to lay the wood floors in the living/dining room/hall. That's the big job that is left to do. We'll be done by the beginning of June.
We've also worked on the landscape a bit (as cheaply as possible for now.) We have big dreams for this, but will work on it as we have more money to spend.
I am reading a book called "All New Square Foot Gardening" which I can't wait to use.
We're going to be some crazy gardners!

We've been visiting churches. Found one that we think might really be a good fit for us, but the pastor has been gone both times we've visited. He'll be back this week and we are looking forward to that.

Our neighbors are SO friendly. We have retired people all around us. And they are out to talk to us all the time. Last Friday night one family ended up in our backyard sitting down and chatting forever. Never experienced anything like that before. They have offered help, equipment, advice. Very nice.

Mom has been here to help. She has gardened, made curtains, cleaned. She's loving helping us fix everything up.

Audrey LOVES being closer to Gia and Bapa. And Her Nana, Aunt Jess, and Cameron are coming to visit next weekend. She can't wait for that!

Last week my friend Kelli from Boston came to visit family in the area and got to bring her new baby Quinn over to introduce him to us. Precious boy! Here he is with Alaina and Audrey.
(He's 2 months younger than Alaina.)
I love how they are all touching eachother in this picture.
And Audrey is really enjoying our jet tub. She loves to "go swimming."

I guess that's it for now.
We have grass to plant, rooms to paint and floor to lay starting this evening.
The fun seems to never end!
