If Alaina Could Talk...

She might say...

"I DO NOT like peas Mommy!"

" Ew!"

"No more! Uh uh!""I am not opening my mouth!"

"oh no, I think I'm going to be sick"

"Gag me with a spoon!"

(This really was mid-gag by the way.

Is it horrible that I gagged her with peas and then took a picture?)

So funny. Alaina loves to eat. She is eating so many new things. And she usually opens her mouth like a sweet little birdy even before I have the spoon anywhere near her mouth. But NOT with peas. Oh no. She puts her hands up in front of her face and grimaces. So funny.

Potty Party

Well, we have been waiting for the time after Alaina was born and our move to start potty training and today was the day.

We used a method called (don't laugh) "Toilet Training in Less Than a Day." I know, I know. It sounds crazy, but the methods are really good. I'm sure we're not done, but really, in less than 3 hours Audrey was doing AWESOME!!! We were so proud of her and actually a little surprised at how well it went.

Dora panties all day with only one accident (which was possibly more mommy's fault for being outside for too long).

Oh, and incidentally, baby doll was potty trained as well. She did awesome too.

A Day in the Life...

What do the Douglas girls do all day you may ask?
Well, our days are never dull that's for sure. So far our day has consisted of:

• Some mommy and Alaina time with Alaina laughing like crazy while I tickled her.
• An emergency bath after a really bad diaper.
• Mommy trying to do pilates with an 8 month old crawling over my head, a dog licking my face, and a 2 year old kicking her pilates next to me.
• Mommy trying to have some coffee and work on a Bible study while baby #2 sleeps and baby #1 does her Bible study (colors in Mommy's journal.)
• playing bubbles
• books, books and more books
• watching some Dr. Suess video
• Mommy sneaks a shower (hallelujah!)
• Audrey feeding her baby and putting her to sleep...
  

• Alaina wakes up from a long nap, I feed her and hurry to get us out the door to the library before Audrey's nap. ...Only to find Audrey already crawled up in her bed ready for a nap - voluntarily. "What's that about" (as Audrey would say)?
• Forget the library today (then I realize the library isn't even open today.) :)
• making baby food
• Mommy and Alaina have some play time. Alaina is into EVERYTHING. She crawls so fast and pulls up on EVERYTHING...

• Alaina down for nap #2. (They are possibly both down for a nap at the same time...hence me being able to blog...although I do hear something going on back there right now.)
• Mommy hurries off to have some down time before they are both up again...which could be in 2 minutes.

Bathtime and Good Friends

My girls are taking baths together now.

How fun.
Precious babies. Sisters.

They are starting to enjoy playing together more and more.

And after we get all cleaned up and spiffy...Quinn Besancon comes for a visit

After we walked the Besancons out and said goodbye, Audrey was walking in front of us back into the house and said "that was fun."

I agree big girl, that was fun.

The Fun Never Ends Around Here

Our girls LOVE puzzles. Audrey wants to "play puzzles" all the time and Alaina seems to be catching the puzzle fever as well...

The last few days have been fun-filled with family visits. It started with Cole and Caroline coming to spend the night.
These sisters love to swing together.

And even more when their cousins Cole and Caroline are pushing them.Look at these pretty girls. Caroline is so sweet with the girls. They both just love her to death.

Audrey had the time of her life playing with her cousins.

Audrey can't get enough of Cole.

After Cole and Caroline left, Papa, Nana and Cameron came for a visit.

Papa brought his jet ski.

Can you believe I let my baby on a jet ski? Her Daddy took good care of her. Not sure she loved it, but she didn't hate it either.

And Mommy wasn't even planning on getting in the water (didn't even bring a bathing suit) but decided to take a ride with Troy and Audrey.

One minute we were on the jet ski...

The next minute...

And then comes Nettie to save us...

She couldn't stand it.

So much for Mommy not getting wet.

Luckily Audrey didn't mind falling off too much.

Alaina just enjoyed the day watching.
