Daddy's little girl

She's a smart one for her age, don't you think? What does the Bible say..."Train up a child in the way she should go..." Well, here is that verse put into action.

Good friends, weddings and baby girls...

We had a great weekend full of good friends, a beautiful wedding and sweet baby girls...

Brandy, Katie and I at Hillary and Stephen's wedding. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the bride and groom. They were pretty busy. They were a perfect couple though.

The Thomason family stayed with us at Mom and Dad's. We had such a great time catching up with them and loving on sweet baby Eden.

Isn't he a precious daddy? ...and so good looking too! :)

We've got 2 great daddy's here. It was neat seeing Bryan with Eden. He's doing such a great job.

Our little family at the wedding.

Who do you think Audrey looks like now?

Our friends Stacey and Andy. They are sweet newlyweds. It was so fun seeing them together.
And..
the sweet girlies.
We think they'll be best of friends. Aren't they cute?

What more could you ask for?

Update on the house

So, we decided yesterday to withdraw our offer on the house. yep. We had the inspection and I sat there staring at the back yard and thinking about it for 2 hours. The inspection wasn't any big bad deal, I just went away not feeling good about it. We decided that if something happened and we didn't get it we wouldn't feel that bad and that seemed to tell us something. and we think that we just need to wait - finish this year in our apartment and then get a better feel for what we are doing here.

So, there you have it. :)

The Secret Garden

No need to beat around the bushes (and bushes and bushes.) Here is the house. This is the backyard. I told you it was crazy. There is alot of work to be done, but it could be really neat. This picture is the biggest arborway. They are trying to figure out what the vines are. And hidden to the right is the greenhouse.

This is a cute arborway on the kitchen side of the house. Not sure what the vines are. It needs to be pruned WAY back. (you should start counting arborways now...fun little game for ya.)
This lattice and mirror are on the side - kind of making a privacy fence to the neighbors yard. Not sure what the vines are. Needs to be cleaned up.
Kind of an overall picture. We would probably take out the palm tree looking thing and all the stone to the left of the tree. The stone carries over from the fountain, but isn't used in the fountain. That should come up. Need grass! Oh, and probably getting rid of the 2 tubs of plants on the front right.

Back of the yard. It has these little raised sections where I could do a vegetable garden. But I bet we take these out and just put some grass.

Arborway, arborway, arborway.

A view of the fountain, a birdhouse (that will go). The large bush thing behind the skinny tree is an arborway.

If, and I mean IF, we keep the fountain...it will have to be cleaned up. trees taken out of it, etc.

Here is the back patio. I love this! (Notice the ceiling fan.) The door you see is to our bedroom.
And below is the side of the house. We aren't really sure what those vines are. And a little arborway that has a bench under it. there is a little storage shed behind the arborway and bench.

Living room with the nursery, spare bedroom and spare bath on the back left.

Master bedroom. It's pretty big. Nice window overlooking the backyard. There is a nice door out of the bedroom to the back patio as well.
Here is the living room. It is sunken down from the other rooms. That corner room is the master bedroom. The windows are to the backyard.
This is the entry from the front door. Built in bookcase. We will probably put our big china cabinet on that wallk next to the bookcase, unless it fits in the dining room.

Kitchen. Isn't this window great. It will be nice for plants.

Dining room right there in the kitchen area. It looks over the living room. I think we will repaint. I am thinking maybe sage.
Kitchen...like I said...probably repainted.

There is a room in the back (past the laundry) where Sarah is standing. We will repaint and probably make it our office. It was part of the garage.

Front yard...Troy says it has every kind of tree that can grow in Texas. We'll trim down ALOT and take out the trees closest to the house. And probably get rid of the little fountain by the front door, or at least clean it up alot.

So...there you go. We have a few more days to get an inspection and consider things. But we are excited and think we are going ahead with it. We should close in the end of August.
We will get the inside all set and ready before we get started on the outside. Then we'll start on the front yard before looking at the backyard. The yard will be alot of work, but great when it is done. Glad that the cooler weather will be here by that time...let's hope. It's record hot here now.
