Easter Weekend

Happy Easter everyone!
Our family had a really nice Easter weekend. Gran and Grandpa came in town on Thursday night. On Friday we took off for Marble Falls/Burnet in the Hill Country where we went to the Texas Bluebonnet Festival. (Bluebonnets are the Texas State Flower for those of you who don't know.)
We got to watch a parade at the Bluebonnet Festival. And I got to sit on Daddy's shoulders so that I wouldn't miss a thing... Somebody in the parade threw me an Easter Egg! Boy did I have fun playing with that egg.

On Easter morning I woke up to an Easter basket, just for me.

And then I got dressed in my pretty purple dress to go to church so we could celebrate Easter.

"Neh?" "Neh?" (That's what I call Nettie....and I call her ALL the time!)

We had Easter lunch at The Salt Lick Barbeque.

Thank you, Gran and Grandpa, for coming to visit me for Easter. I love you!

(OH, and I did take a few steps by myself several times this weekend...just for my Gran and Grandpa!)

Updates and Stuff...

What have we been up to now that our little sweetie is one year old? Well, let us update you...

We have been house hunting. To buy. yes. buy. It is SO tiring looking at houses. You would think it would be so super fun. But it's tiring. We found a house that we loved, it was so great, seemed so perfect for us. We put in an offer and it was accepted (verbally because the seller was out of town, but they 1st countered, we accepted and then they accepted.) Only to get 2 more offers which they decided to take even though they had accepted ours. And in the end, they took one of the other offers without even giving us a chance to up our offer. It stunk. But ultimately we trust that God will put us where He wants us.

I have started a new little money making scheme. :) So my mom has started mystery shopping and I signed up for several companies thinking I might get to go out to dinner for free. Mostly I was annoyed by all of the mystery shopping e-mails. But, I finally got a winner. I am evaluating gas stations and getting $400 smackers a month. I can do this for a year. How's that for easy money? I can evaluate a station (with Audrey strapped to me) in about 20 minutes and then it takes about 20 min. to do the survey online. Not too bad eh? And it will pay for groceries for sure. We'll see. I'll do it for this month and see if it is too much trouble and time with Audrey. From Harvard Campus Minister to Gas Station Evaluator. Funny eh?

Troy is doing well in work. He's working hard and really learning the ropes. He has made some good sales and really enjoys his co-workers. So all is well on that front.

Some of you know that as I have blogged over the past year that I have done so with the idea of making a book of the blog after Audrey's first year. Well, I got it finished and published. It is so neat. Such a great keepsake for our little girl. It starts with our pregnancy and goes through her first birthday. We really love it.

Audrey has been busy playing like a big girl. Daddy put together a horsey that Aunt Jessica and Cameron gave Audrey for Christmas. She loves being pulled around on it. And she is still going in her room and reading books by herself. She can read for so long - pointing as she reads. She's in there right now listening to the CD her Aunt Lynn and Uncle Richard gave her while she plays.

And last, but not least...Audrey had her first haircut. Her bangs were long and kept getting inher face. now they are short and so sweet...
