Hallooooweeen 2012

What a fun day the Douglas girls had Trick or Treating our way around town.
The day began with a visit to the sweet ladies in our church office.
Then we showed up at Daddy's office to bring a little Halloween cheer.
And here we are ready to set out for an evening of fun...

Our little Cupcake and Princess Jasmine...

We enjoyed most of the evening over at the Lee's Halloween Extraordinaire...

Ready to start our Trick or Treat fun...
 Scary little monsters...
The girls did a great job of saying "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you."
Alaina got really friendly the further we went.
She even asked a girl who came to the door, "who's your husband?"  And the girl quite obviously didn't know what to do with that question.
We tried to explain to Alaina that we weren't going to ask people questions like that.  Just stick to "Trick or Treat."  And she mostly did...except for the frequent telling that she was a cupcake.
Up the walk with Alaina leading the way...
Mommy wasn't just holding Laina for a photo op here.
She wouldn't walk by this house on her own.
Sweet sisters loved Trick or Treating together.
The Lee's party for the neighborhood...
And after leaving the Lee's we made it back to our neighborhood where we had to go visit Mr. Wade and Mr. Bonnie's houses.
And finally...home to spread out the stash.
Man, these girls brought it in.
And to top off the evening before bed...
a little fluoride rinse for everyone.  :)
Cheers!

It's Pumpkin Time!

Today was a crisp day in Texas and our family took advantage of the beautiful Fall weather to go to the pumpkin farm.

Alaina loved looking at the pumpkins and pulling the cart around.
When we found just the right one, the girls worked together to get it in the cart all by themselves.  Big girls.

These sisters sure do love each other. They spent much of our time holding hands and doing the activities together.

They never let go of each other on this ride and they LOVED it.
The final pumpkin choices...
And now the fun begins at home...

Happy Pumpkin Day everyone!!!

And Then She Turned 40...

Can you believe it?! 40! And it was a great birthday with family and sweet friends. It all started with an unexpected visit from my life long friend Stephanie. Our mamas were expecting together 40 years ago. And Stephanie was born only a few short weeks after me. We've been together ever since.  It was sweet to have her here and boy my girls can't get enough of Mrs. Stephanie...especially when she gives them fancy manicures and pedicures!  They had purple, glitter, flowers and butterflies.  So exciting.

Thanks for coming Stephanie. Happy 40th to you too.  I love you!
Saturday night - the Eve of my birthday - Troy took me to a nice dinner and shopping.  We had a great night out together.
And then Sunday, my birthday, was full of church and friends.
After church we were unexpectedly invited to lunch with dear friends.  It was a special treat at the restaurant owned by our new friend Zara who just came to know Christ.  very special.
Sunday evening was a great time at home group surrounded by friends. And then came today...my dear friend Renee kept the girls while I met Mom and Sarah at a really neat restaurant in Dallas - Rise.
It is all Souffles.  Souffle entree, souffle dessert.  mmmmm.  We shared 5 different souffles including 1 chocolate and 1 raspberry.  favorite!
It was a sweet time together.

Thank you Mom and Sarah for making me feel so special.  I love you so much.
It certainly was a Happy Birthday to me.
Thank you everybody.
