Christmas at Gran and Grandpa's

Look what we found in Audrey's stocking at Gran and Granpa's! A sweet little girl!
(Gran made her the stocking, isn't it great? It has Audrey's name on it.)
Looks like we're pulling out a baby doll doesn't it?
And this is the face that she is making so often now...

Aunt Sarah and Uncle Eddie gave Audrey these books. They are family favorites.

Forget the toys...I like this shoestring! ...And Caroline's hat.

Caroline gave me a telephone.
And we even had our very own Christmas carolers. They sang Silent Night with Cate on the piano, Caroline on guitar, Eddie on mandolin, Sarah singing...and Cole whistling.

Mommy and Aunt Sarah got some pretty bracelets.

And I got a fun book too.
Don't forget my hammer. It makes a funny noise. I like it alot!

Aren't my cousins pretty? I hope I can grow up to be just like them!

I loved pulling presents from my stocking. It was so much fun to see what surprises were inside.

Cate gave me this funny pig.

I had such a good time playing with all of my toys!
Now, don't be worried by my ugly ole t-shirt. Aunt sarah snuck it on me when mommy and daddy weren't looking. Granpa says I am going to wear it when mommy and daddy aren't here. But even I know better than that! I am a Red Sox girl through and through!

Argh matey! I'm a Christmas pirate!

Merry Christmas Ho Ho Ho!

A Merry Douglas Christmas

I just got back from Christmas in Bay City with the Douglas and West families. Boy, did I have a merry Christmas! Here are a few of my highlights...
I LOVE my cousin Cameron. (and I think he likes me a bit too!)

Nana is a pretty special grandmother. She loved on me alot! And she gave me some really pretty new clothes and a toy box for my room!

This is my Aunt Jessica. She is so much fun! She plays with me alot. She and
Cameron gave me my first baby doll and a horse to take me and my baby doll on a ride. I loved my baby doll. I loved opening the presents.

This is my Granny Hilda. She wore a pretty Christmas tree sweater that I wanted to touch. She's a sweet Granny.
Cameron picked out a present for me all by himself. He gave me his very own Bible picture book.
This is Uncle Jay. He thought I was a Christmas present!
And this is my new face. I like to suck my top lip in. It's pretty cute.
Granny West had on a pretty Christmas sweater too. Boy, my Grannies sure know how to make me happy!

And this is Aunt Sister. She is so much fun. I really like to play with her.

This Christmas was great!...and can you believe it's not over yet? I'm on my way to Dallas tonight to see my Gran and Grandpa. I'm going to show them how I can crawl. What a Christmas surprise that will be!

Merry Christmas everybody!

Our first family Christmas with Audrey

It has become a tradition of Troy's and mine to celebrate our own Christmas a few days before Christmas and a few days before all of our travel to be with family. This was especially important this year with Audrey.

We started out our day with breakfast together (Troy and I with cinammon rolls and Audrey with oatmeal and applesauce.)

Then Audrey got to get her first gifts from Santa Clause.

(As I look back on my years with Santa Clause as I was growing up, I sometimes try to remember what I saw each year as I came out of my room and looked under the tree. I have some great pictures in my mind of this. I wanted Audrey to have real pictures to remember. So, we will try to take a picture after Santa comes each year... before Audrey digs in.)
Audrey, this is what Santa left your very first year!

And this is Audrey discovering her gifts...

Oh, Santa left some treats under the tree for Nettie too. After discovering them, Nettie never let them out of her site.

After Santa was done...and a nap...we went to church.

Then we went and had a nice dinner out (another tradition Troy and I started for our Christmas together.) We went to Pappadeaux. It was GOOD!

And then we came home, put on our pajamas and opened our stockings.
Audrey got to go first...

Troy wanted her to have a stuffed animal that she might learn to love and carry around. We named him Ribbity.
And then there was more...

And don't forget Nettie's stocking...

It really was just a perfect day for our little family. One we will definitely remember for years to come!
