Deck the Halls

This has been a busy, festive weekend for us.

Saturday we had Troy's work Christmas party. It was at a really cool Hill Countryish Pavilion outside of Austin. We had great bbq and I enjoyed meeting Troy's co-workers.

One of the things that we really like about Troy's company is that it is very family oriented, and you can really see this at the Christmas party. The entire family gets to come to the party. (Audrey wore her pretty Christmas dress that Aunt Sarah bought her.) Santa Claus came, they called out every child's name and they got to go up and sit in Santa's lap and get a present wrapped just for them, an elf came to paint faces, and they even had a magician.

So, Audrey got to meet Santa for the first time. No, she didn't cry. But she was kind of fascinated by his white gloves and the ball on the end of his hat. Here are a few pictures of us at the party.

Last night we ended our day with a "Christmas Stroll" in downtown Georgetown. It was nice. We bundled Audrey up and walked around downtown with the Christmas music, kettle corn, and cider. We shopped the vendors and visited the "Town of Bethlehem" with people in costume, vendors with things that might have been in Bethlehem (like nuts, bread making, perfumery, the Inn, and the stable with the nativity.) It was really neat. Will be fun for Audrey when she gets a little bigger.

And today we decked our halls. Audrey got to help Daddy put the star on top of the tree. It was so fun to see her fascination with the tree. We have a toy nativity under the tree that Joshua Pitchford gave Audrey before she was even born. She LOVES to play with the nativity - as you will see.

And I am always trying to think of how to display my Christmas cards. These are berries from some bushes here at our apartments. Notice my one card from Karin and Eric. I am waiting on all of those beautiful cards to display! :) (and after Christmas I will put them all in an album for the year so I can look back at them. I just looked back at the cards from 2006. How fun!)

Notice how Audrey's tongue is out in almost all of the pictures. She does this all the time when she is working at something.

I can tell now, this is going to be such a great Christmas with Audrey. What a joy!

oh, and don't forget Nettie. She always helps us decorate our tree.
